A teenager remains in critical condition this morning after she was pulled to safety during a house fire in Cambridge overnight.
Emergency services were called to Brennan Place at around 10pm.
When they arrived, a teenage girl was unaccounted for.
She was found inside the burning house by an off-duty police officer who was also a volunteer firefighter.
"The teen was pulled to safety and crews provided immediate medical assistance," police said.
"She remains in a critical condition in hospital."
St John said it treated two patients at the scene, one in a critical condition and one in a serious condition. Both were taken to Waikato Hospital.
Police said a scene examination would be carried out today.
"Initial enquiries suggest there are no suspicious circumstances."
