Alice Robinson created history overnight in becoming the first Kiwi to win a medal at the Alpine Skiiing World Championships.
The 23-year-old claimed silver in the giant slalom.
"It was such a cool day, so exciting, it was really challenging conditions," she told 1News from Austria.
"I feel like I've been skiing well all year, really consistent and I'm just really grateful I could execute on the day, its super nice to have a medal."
The Queenstown skier had gold in her grasp - she finished her final run in top spot until the very last competitor, Italy's Federica Brignone, eclipsed Robinson's time by less than a second.

"When I was skiing the run I didn't think it was that good, I thought this is wild, I wasn't sure if it was fast. I was second after the first run and saw I was 1.7 seconds ahead of third place and I was like, okay this must be pretty good."
"Normally in ski racing if you come down with that sort of advantage, you're in a pretty good spot to win the race," Robinson said.
Her silver medal capped off a stellar start to the year, having won her first World Cup event in four years last month.
And even in less-than-ideal conditions this morning, Robinson proved she can adapt.
"Honestly I wasn't nervous, today felt super calm and knew what I wanted to do. One thing I was nervous about was the conditions because it was very warm here overnight, so the snow was interesting, it was a bit on the softer side which isn't always my favourite.
