Banker Hayden Edwards said he was on break from work when he saw two people get hit with falling debris.

"There was a massive bang and I ran over, there were people who had been cut.

"An older gentleman had a massive cut on his eye, and there was blood dripping from his face, and I saw one other lady holding her forehead."

He said he was a bit shaken but okay after witnessing the incident.

"The glass broke the fall a bit, it could have been a lot worse."

The owner of a nearby shop said she heard a "big crash" out the front of her store.

"I was quite impressed, the police were here in one minute and there were a lot of people coming to help."

She said she wanted to know why the items fell from the building for the safety of her and her staff.

"We walk on the street everyday, one day, it could be us."
