The Grammys are set to take place tonight at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and our own Fontaines D.C. among the nominees.
Now in its 67th year, this year's ceremony will go on in the shadow of the devastating wildfires that have engulfed parts of Los Angeles in recent weeks. The ceremony is the first such event to go ahead after the first wildfire broke out on 7 January, with many award shows postponed and events cancelled.
Trevor Noah will step in for hosting duties for the fifth time, and does so as a nominee himself: he's up for Best Comedy Album for his latest release Where Was I.
It's set to be a dazzling night of performances, with Chappell Roan set to take to the stage for what we're certain will be a yet another spectacular display from the pop singer. Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish and more are also on the cards to perform.
Fontaines D.C. will fly the flag for Ireland, as their fourth album Romance goes head to head with TANGK by Idles, Saviors by Green Day, Happiness Bastards by The Black Crowes, Dark Matter by Pearl Jam, Hackney Diamonds by The Rolling Stones and No Name by Jack White in the Best Rock Album category.
They're also nominated in the Best Alternative Music Performance category for their single Starburster, going up against Flea by St. Vincent, Neon Pill by Cage The Elephant, BYE BYE by Kim Gordon and Song Of The Lake by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
Also representing Ireland is conductor Elaine Kelly, who is nominated in the Best Choral Performance category for conducting Benedict Sheehan's oratorio Akathist. Belfast rapper Jordan Adetunji is also nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance for his song KEHLANI.
Elsewhere, eyes will be on Beyoncé who is once again in the running for Album of the Year, among other awards, for her ground-breaking country album Cowboy Carter. Despite being the most Grammy-awarded artist of all time with a whopping 32 gramophones, the Texan megastar has never won Album of the Year or Record of the Year, the two major categories on the night.
And of course, in all of this, we'll be focusing on the fabulous outfits gracing the red carpet. The ceremony is always an opportunity for stars to go all out, and has given us some of the most jaw-dropping, history-making looks in recent years. Check them out here.
